Polystyrene prices dip in Asia despite firmer SM values

29-Aug-08
Despite firmer prices of feedstock Styrene Monomer, Polystyrene offers in Asia have dipped to lows of US$1650/MT CFR China, as many sellers face increasing pressures to sell. Demand for Polystyrene continued to be dismal last week, leading to mounting sales pressure that has caused prices to dip. Higher cost pressures did, however, maintain few CFR China offers at US$1680/MT levels.
