Polystyrene prices are showing a downward trend in Asia on the back of reduced demand from China and fall in oil prices. As per ChemOrbis, Asian GPPS and HIPS prices recorded $10-30/ton decreases in China compared to the first week of the month. Meanwhile, spot styrene offers recorded $30 - $ 35/ton decreases compared to the beginning of May. PS prices could fall further if demand does not pick up and oil continues to decline.
On the other hand Europe is witnessing increase in prices due to ongoing supply issues. The increase is in the range of €20-40/ton
