Process upset at Braskem's polypropylene plant at Texas

Braskem America has had a process upset over the weekend at its 320,000 m tpa Texas polypropylene facility in Freeport, Texas. The upset occurred on Saturday when a leak occurred during a transfer process, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The company reported flaring 10,000 lbs of propylene.
"Maximum time from the start of the release to blocking in was estimated to be less than 10 minutes," Braskem America said.
