Qatar Ethylene Expansion project work under progress

Since 1996, Japan and Qatar have been building trade relations. Japan imports major part of the crude oil produced in Qatar, as well as natural gas in the form of LNG since 1996. The value of trade between the two countries has increased 2.5 times within this decade as 30 million tpa of LNG is expected to be exported. The two countries are working towards expansion of business relationship in the future not only in the hydrocarbon business area but also in other sectors. Based on this, Qapco signed the EPC deal with Japan Gas Company (JGC) in March this year. JGC is the main contractor for execution of all engineering, procurement and constructions of EPC, while Stone & Webster is the technology supplier for the expansion project.
