Restructuring at Dow Elastomers

Dow Elastomers is to be now called DuPont Performance Elastomers- a subsidiary of DuPont Co. Dow Elastomers, the former joint venture of DuPont and Dow Chemical Co., supplyies a range of products including Viton fluoroelastomers, Viton FreeFlow processing aids, Kalrez perfluoroelastomer parts, and Neoprene and Hypalon synthetic rubbers. Dow's other major plastics business unit, located in Houston, includes PE, PP, PS and engineering resins, and is now called Base Plastics. Dow Chemical Co. has reorganized its plastics businesses to include materials from DuPont Dow. The new Dow Specialty Plastics and Elastomers in Midland includes Engage metallocene polyolefm elastomers (POEs), Tyrin CPEs, and Nordel EPDM- all from DuPont Dow. The product portfolio is to also include Dow's Affinity plastomers, new Versify propylene-ethylene TPEs, and wire and cable compounds, TPUs and Saran products.
