Rhodia has launched construction of a Research and Development facility in Shanghai with 150 scientists. Construction will be completed this summer, and will support 17 of Rhodia's industrial operations in China and the Asia-Pacific region. To meet customer demand, the facility will focus on automotive, electronic, household, personal care, oilfield and agricultural formulation. One of the facility's primary directives will be to help develop sustainable products. Recording 40% increase in sales over the year in the fast growing Asia-Pacific region, the company experienced 55% growth in 2007 from 2004-06.
