Samsung Engg's first centre outside Korea to undertake EPC contracts

Samsung Engineering, has inaugurated Global Engineering Centre - its first engineering centre outside Korea for undertaking EPC contracts for India, Middle East and East Asia, and could further expand to encompass Mexico and other American countries. GEC is expected to generate an estimated 30% of Samsung's global turnover amounting to $1.5 billion in revenues by 2010 Samsung is in the pursuit to build a petrochem project for a state-owned oil major in north India. As refinery building heats up, India will be at the heart of the company's plan. The initial focus will be on the hydrocarbons sector, where Samsung has already executed refinery and petrochem projects for Indian Oil Corporation and IPCL.
