Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports in September fell 19% from a year ago, mainly due to weak demand for petrochemicals, as per data from the Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI). Non oil exports fell to SR7.6 bln (US$2.03 bln), while imports in September also fell by 34% to SR23.9 bln, compared with SR36.5 bln from a year ago levels. Saudis main non-oil exports in September were petrochemical products, plastic and metals. Petrochemical products worth SR2.2 bln accounted for 29% of the total non-oil exports. Its main imports are electric appliances, transport vehicles and food products.
In Q2-09, the Kingdoms non-oil exports fell 24% to SR24.05 bln, while non-oil imports dropped by 18% to SR86.72 bln from the same period last year.
