Saudi Aramco mulls petrochem expansion at Ras Tanura Refinery

Saudi Aramco is considering integration of its petrochemicals production with the Ras Tanura refinery and Ju'aymah Industrial Area feedstock, at an estimated cost of US$6 bln. The proposed integration would include a large ethane/naphtha based cracker, an aromatics recovery complex and complementary downstream derivative units to produce petrochemicals. he Ras Tanura refinery consists of a 325,000 bpd hydrocracker and a 200,000 bpd condensate splitter.
