Shenhua Baotou Coal Chemical Co. Ltd, part of the Shenhua Group Corporation Limited, has selected Univation's UNIPOL ™ PE process for a 300,000 tpa polyethylene plant. The new facility is part of a project using "clean coal" technologies that converts coal to methanol to produce ethylene and propylene, and is scheduled for start-up in 2010. The plant will be capable of producing a full range of linear low and high-density polyethylenes.
Shenhua Group Corporation Limited is a wholly state-owned enterprise, incorporated in October 1995 and approved by the State Council in accordance with the modern enterprise system. It is the sole large-scale energy company in China, with integrated businesses ranging from coal, power, railway, port facilities and coal liquefaction.
