LANXESS and DuPont invest U10 mln in JV expansion

16-Jul-07
LANXESS of Leverkusen and DuPont of Geneva have invested more than EUR 10 mln at their Joint Venture at Hamm-Uentrop. The site is currently operated by the joint company DuBay Polymer GmbH, and produces polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) since the plant went on stream in 2004. The main areas of application for PBT are the electrical and electronics industry and automotive construction, where it is used, among other things, for the production of headlamp bezels and distributor housings. The material exhibits high heat resistance, stiffness and strength, low surface friction, high wear resistance, low moisture absorption and good dielectric properties.
