SolVin, the 30:70 joint venture between Solvay (Brussels, Belgium) and BASF (Ludwigshafen/Germany), and Siberian-Ural Petrochemical (Sibur, Russia), have confirmed that they have established a JV to build Russia's first world-scale fully integrated vinyls plant in Kstovo, in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The partners will invest EUR 650 mln in the project planned to produce 330,000 tpa PVC and 225,000 tpa caustic soda. The plants are estimated to come onstream in 2010.
