Sinopec awarded EPC contract by Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries

Sinopec Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. has entered into an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries (the KPI Company), for a project located in the region of Karabatan, Atyrau State. The scope of work under the contract includes the general contracting of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and performance assessment (EPCC) for a 500,000 tpa propane dehydrogenation unit (PDH) and polypropylene unit (PP) as well as the public utilities required by the two units above and the supporting infrastructures outside the plant. The contract term is expected to be 36 months, with a total contract value of US$1.85 bln (RMB11.4 bln).
