South Korean Daelim to build Iranian LDPE plant

The Daelim Industrial Co., South Korean major, has been awarded a 107.6 billion won (US$102 million) contract from a subsidiary of Iran's National Petrochemical Co. Under the deal, Daelim will build a 300,000 tpa low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) plant for Amir Kabir Petrochemical Co. Daelim Industrial will join hands with Britain's SembCorp Simon-Carves in building the factory on a turn-key basis to be built at Iran's 6th Olefin petrochemical complex in Bandar Imam. The plant's construction would begin early this year, and its completion scheduled for late 2007.
