Japan's Asahi Kasei Corporation and Taiwan's China Petrochemical Development Corporation (CPDC) have both shut down some production units for turnaround.
Acrylonitrile consumption in the Asian region has greatly reduced recently, as a majority of downstream nitrilon producers maintained low operation rates.
