South Korea's biggest chemicals maker - LG Chem Ltd. has posted a record-high quarterly net profit to 236.7 billion won to June 30, up from a 45.1 billion won profit a year earlier.
This five-fold surge in profit in a year can be attributed to strong petrochemical product sales. Sales were 2.64 trillion won versus 2.27 trillion a year ago.
