Jubail Chevron Phillips Co, a Chevron - SIIG (Saudi Industrial Investment Group) JV has commenced production at its plant. The JV has kicked off the production of styrene and polypropylene at its Jubail-based plant and start exporting the same by September, as initial production will be stocked as inventory.
South Korea's SK Corp has delayed by a week or two, turnaround at its 370,000 tpa SM plant, scheduled for mid September. This delay could be attributed to current robust demand for PO.
China's Jinzhou Petrochemical Co. Ltd. has shuttered its SM plant for a maintenance turnaround. As its ethylbenzene unit continues to operate at normal levels, the company plans to stockpile output in preparation of the restart of its SM plant.
