Taiwan's CPC had shut its 500,000 tpa No. 5 naphtha cracker on April 6 because of a fire. This unit, though restarted now, is operating below 80% of its capacity for now, as per Reuters. These low run rates can be attributed to the continued shutdown of a butadiene unit after the fire. It was not immediately clear when CPC would be able to restore runs at the butadiene unit.
