Taiwan's Formosa Petrochemical Corp has gone for one-and-a-half month maintenance close down of its 1.2 mln tpa naphtha cracker (region's largest unit) this week. Asia's largest ethylene maker, Formosa also operates two other naphtha units having production capacities of 700,000 tpa and 1.03 mln tpa. The 45-day shut down of the naphtha unit will result in unleashing of almost 300,000 tons of naphtha during the period into the markets.
