Loyal Group- the world's largest producer of expandable polystyrene, headquartered in Taiwan, is to build a new plant in Poland at an investment outlay of €20mln. The new EPS plant, to be located in the town of Police, will have an initial capacity of 100,000 tpa, and is estimated to start up in 2010. This will be the first investment by the Loyal Group in Europe. The plant will draw styrene monomer supplied by partner company Mitsubishi Corporation, shipped into Port Morski and then transported by pipeline.
About 70% of the plant's output will be used for application in the construction sector, and packaging for household appliances, TVs and other items. Loyal Group's current EPS capacity is pegged at 800,000 tpa, and is estimated to rise to 1.12 mln tpa within two years- almost 25% of global demand.
