Taiwan's China Petrochemical Development Corporation plans to shut an acrylonitrile (ACN) lines at Kaohsiung for planned maintenance for about five days. This unit is one of the two units in Koahsiung, each operating at 100% of the nameplate capacity of 90,000 tpa.
This shutdown will affect the availability of spot cargoes from the company in the markets for the month of April. Recently, regional ACN prices have been on a upward trend on account of bullish market sentiment and tight supplies. Supplies have been tight on the back of several turnarounds, increasing demand from downstream acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene and acrylic fibre industries and surging raw material costs.
