Technip has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction support lump sum contract by Valero Refining Company for two flare gas recovery units at its Port Arthur, Texas refinery. Each unit involves modification to the existing flare system, gas compression and gas treating to remove hydrogen sulfide. The recovered and treated gas will be returned to the refinery fuel gas system. The contract is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2011. The scope of work includes basic engineering, project management, detailed engineering, procurement, construction support, pre-commissioning and start-up assistance. This project follows the successful execution of the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) by Technip.
