Technip was awarded the contract to perform detailed engineering, procurement, construction and project management (EPCM) services for and on behalf of Sasol last year. This contract further strengthens Technip’s leading position in polypropylene facilities, in an area in which Technip has designed and built 8% of the world’s overall capacity.
This EPCM contract was assigned to Technip up to ‘ready for commissioning’ for Sasol’s Polypropylene II (PP2) plant in Secunda, to produce 300,000 tpa of polypropylene. The project will be completed and ready for commissioning by August 2006. The plant is based on BP’s innovative gas-phase technology.
