Uhde GmbH, a construction unit of ThyssenKrupp AG, won a 550 mln euros (US$712 million) contract to build a petrochemical plant in Egypt's tax-free zone of Port Said for Egyptian Propylene and Polypropylene Co. The US$680 mln plant will produce propylene and polypropylene to supply domestic and foreign markets. The plant to be completed in 2009, will use propane from Egyptian natural gas supplies.
