Titan records 38% rise in net profit

23-Feb-06
Titan Chemicals Corp Bhd, Malaysia's largest petrochemical firm, recorded a net profit of RM19.3 million for its final quarter while its full year net profit stood at RM362 million against RM262 million in 2004. Titan has recorded a 38% rise in net profit than a year ago and a 27% rise in sales. Annual revenue was up 27% to RM4.5 billion from RM3.5 billion. A 40% shortfall in net profit for the year to December 2005 against what it forecast in its listing prospectus can be attributed to rising oil prices.
