Chemical firm Total Petrochemicals will begin manufacturing a new generation of EPS in 2013 following the acquisition of Polimeri's polystyrene manufacturing operation at Feluy in Belgium, as per European Plastics News.
In 2010, Total Petrochemicals announced plans to acquire the Polimeri facilities and the right to operate the production lines, with the exception of the EPS unit reactors. Following the acquisition in August 2010 of two polystyrene lines with a combined capacity of 160,000 tpa for the Total Petrochemicals production site at Feluy, it was decided to modify one of the two lines so as to manufacture the new expandable polystyrene.
