Uhde awarded US$550 mln EPC contract by Qapco for LDPE plant

Uhde, a unit of ThyssenKrupp Technologies, has been awarded a US$550 mln EPC contract from Qatar Petrochemical Company (Qapco) for a new low density polyethylene plant in Mesaieed Industrial City. Uhde’s scope of services and supplies covers project management, detail engineering, supply of all equipment and materials and construction work up to ready for feed-in. The new plant will be integrated with the polyethylene production area inside the Qapco petrochemical complex and will have production capacity of 300,000 tpa, slated for commissioning in late 2011.
