21-Nov-16

The University of Hyderabad (UoH) and University of Bradford, UK, have signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate in the area of polymer-based materials for therapeutics for diseases such as cancer and tuberculosis. The research effort relies on novel nanotechnology-based approaches to solving problems of current interest and the results are expected to have societal impact due to the nature of diseases involved.

The MoU exemplifies the multi-disciplinary and international nature of research collaboration, which brings together the School of Engineering Sciences and Technology and the School of Life Sciences on the UoH side and the School of Chemistry in the University of Bradford. The agreement was signed by Brian Cantor, Vice-Chancellor of the UK University, and P Sardar Singh, Registrar of Hyderabad University. It is expected that this beginning will lead to a long-term relationship between the two universities, to include several other areas of research, according to a press release.
