US$16 bln petrochemical plant planned in Nigeria to be executed by indigenous companies

A petrochemical plant being planned in Nigeria at an investment of US$16billion comprises construction of 1.3 mln tpa polypropylene and polyethylene plant to be built by Xenel in collaboration with NNPC and others. Earlier, global oil experts from Xenel of Saudi Arabia, Nagarjuna of India, Chevron Nigeria Limited, Sahara Energy, Nigerian Ports Plc along with Group Executive Director, Gas and Power of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) have conducted a preliminary site survey on the petrochemical plant in Delta state.
