US$40M contract awarded to CB&I for project in Saudi Arabia

CB&I has been awarded a US$40 million contract to design and build storage tanks and pressure vessels for a petrochemical project in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia by Eastern Petrochemical Co., an affiliate of Saudi Basic Industries Corp. The 2.8 million metric tpa capacity etylene, ethylene glycol and polyethylene project in Al Jubail is targeted to meet the growing demand from Asia. Completion of the project is scheduled for Fall 2007. CB&I will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction of eight vessels, including two double-wall tanks for the storage of ethylene and propylene, and two stainless steel tanks for the storage of monoethylene glycol.
