Iran's Marun and Pars petrochemical projects, currently at pre-commissioning stages, are scheduled to go on stream by March 2006. The Pars Petrochemical Complex in Assaluyeh is to provide feedstock for Olefin 9 Complex and produce 1.5 tons of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas).
Construction on several petrochemical complexes is being planned in Chabahar, subject to finalization of gas export agreement to India. Total capacity of the units would be determined in accordance with articles of Iran-India agreement and required gas by India.
