West Bengal seeks FDI for second refinery in Haldia

As part of the delegation to USA led by Union Minister of State for Industry Aswini Kumar, the West Bengal government has pitched for US investments in setting up a second oil refinery and some petrochemical plants in Haldia. West Bengal is one of the five states shortlisted by the center for setting up PCPIRs. The Centre also proposes to set up chemical regions in the states of Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat. Representatives of the West Bengal government has met representatives of 29 petrochem companies, and will identify the more serious among them and take initiatives in wooing them for investing in West Bengal.
