Westlake Chemical's olefins complex in Louisiana returns to normalcy

Westlake Chemical Corp. has managed to restore electrical power to its olefins petrochemical complex in Lake Charles, Louisiana, following an orderly shut down in anticipation of Hurricane Rita. All remaining utilities are expected to be fully available by this weekend. All necessary personnel have been contacted and are returning to work to assist in completing the remaining repairs and preparing the facilities for a safe and timely return to operations, now projected to be by the end of next week. The company's range of products includes ethylene, polyethylene, styrene, propylene, caustic, VCM, PVC and PVC pipe, windows and fences.
