SK Chemicals Co., a leading South Korean chemical producer plans to spin off its petrochemicals division to establish an independent company. The new company, yet to be named, is to be launched on Dec. 1, will be capitalized at 20 billion won (US$19.28 million) and will produce materials for polyester.
SK Chemicals is a subsidiary of SK Group, South Korea's fourth-largest family-controlled conglomerate.
