Rapra Technology is organising its third international conference on High Performance Fillers, at the Radisson Hotel in Hamburg from 14-15 March 2007. Building on the success of previous year's events, this conference offers a forum to bring together compounders, moulders, processors, materials specialists, polymer engineers and researchers in polymer science, and end users of polymer materials.
Over recent years there has been an increasing demand for fillers such as fibres, particulates, powders and other matrix reinforcements to provide improved structural properties for plastic composites. While fillers have in many cases been viewed as merely diluents to drive down costs, pressures to improve product quality have brought about a growth in their commercial use as high performance additives. High performance fillers can play a key role in the development of important new eco-friendly materials; a recent example is the development of improved fuel efficiency tyres, a subject that will be discussed at this conference. With advances in polymeric nanocomposites, there now exists a radical alternative to conventional-filled polymers and the high performance fillers market is poised for further growth.
This year's conference features presentations from industry giants such as BASF, GE Advanced Materials, Noveon, Borealis, 3M and Ciba Specialty Chemicals who will be addressing subjects such as surface treatments, nanocomposites and the latest fillers with functional effects. Programme highlights include papers on the use of siliceous materials as process modifiers in polymer production; ethanol free mercapto silane coupling agents for high performance, scorch-free rubber compounding; and enhancing the performance of textile fibres with nanofillers.
This is an excellent opportunity to network with experts in the industry and to keep abreast of all the latest developments. Register before 21st December and save EUR 200.
