On April 24th the resolution “Stop the dumping of Plastics” has been signed at the town hall of Ostend by the Belgian Association of Manufacturers of Plastic and Rubber Articles Federplast.be, KIMO Netherlands and Belgium, the city of Ostend and the resort town of Knokke-Heist. The resolution intends to stop the increasing pollution by plastics waste of public spaces, roads, rivers and seas. The resolution calls to achieve the complete recovery and recycling of all plastics waste in a foreseeable future.
The resolution was signed by Mr. Stéphane Dalimier, President of the Belgian Association of Manufacturers of Plastic and Rubber Articles Federplast.be, Mr. Wim Westerman, President of the Association of the Dutch and Flemish Coastal Communities KIMO Netherlands and Belgium, the aldermen of Ostend, Mr. Yves Miroir and Mr. Tom Germonpré, and the alderman of Knokke-Heist, Mr. Paul Geerinckx.
The resolution was also signed on behalf of the environmental NGOs Horizon Educatief, Natuurpunt, Sea First, de West-Vlaamse Milieufederatie, Waste Free Oceans, VLIZ, Bond Beter leefmilieu, Stichting De Noordzee, Vogelbescherming, Surfriders Foundation Europe, the Belgian Federation of Environmental Companies FEBEM-FEGE and the resort town of Koksijde.
