Unplanned shutdown of Marun Petrochemical's 1.1 mln tpa cracker

11-Jul-08
Iran's Marun Petrochemical has unexpectedly shut its 1.1 mln tpa cracker along with its high density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene (PP) and monoethylene glycol (MEG) units located at Bandar Imman. An interruption in the gas supply has caused this shutdown. The units are estimated to get restarted in the first week of August. Only the 400000 tpa MEG unit that has been shut due to a technical problem will be restarted in first week of September.
