A material 15% stronger, yet lighter than standard Kevlar® fibers

Kevlar® Advanced Performance (AP) fibers – a material 15% stronger yet lighter in weight when compared to standard Kevlar® fibers has been introduced by DuPont Protection Technologies. The first offering in the new line is Kevlar® K29 AP. Kevlar® AP can save costs in addition to offering greater design flexibility for manufacturers that supply automotive, construction, oil and gas, ropes, fiber optic cables and utility customers. “Kevlar® fiber can strengthen and reinforce a wide range of products because of its lightweight strength, dimensional stability, corrosion resistance, thermal stability and other unique properties.
