Saudi Arabia's Al-Zamil Group and US based Chemtura Corporation have announced an agreement for the formation of a joint venture to build a world-scale metal alkyls manufacturing facility in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia. The facility would be designed to satisfy growing regional demand for aluminium alkyls that serve as specialty catalysts for a variety of olefins, including polyethylene and polypropylene.
The joint venture is to license Chemtura's proprietary technology and serve as the sales and marketing arm of Chemtura's aluminium alkyls in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Coast Countries. Sales outside the Gulf region, technical service and product applications knowledge will be provided by Chemtura.
