To capture rising demand in the auto industry in Thailand, Japan's leading specialty petrochemical producer, Mitsubishi Chemical Group, has set up a new marketing company there. This will help the company meet its objective of expanding its customer base in Thailand, particularly from the growing automotive sector. The new company, named MEP Engineering Plastics (Thailand) Co (MEPT), has begun operations since August.
Projections reveal that engineering plastics demand in Thailand would grow by at least 10% pa. A strong marketing network will help the company's accumulated sales revenue in Thailand until 2007 to reach four billion baht.
