Unipetrol has reached an agreement to sell its 82% stake in PVC manufacturer Spolana to Polish chemical group Anwil by next month. Part of the agreement includes long-term supplies of ethylene from Unipetrol to Spolana.
Independent assessment of the sale price is being carried out by a court-appointed company. This will ultimately have to be approved by Unipetrol's supervisory board.
Reports speculate 82% stake to be worth around Kc 1 billion (€ 35.4 million) and that the tender for Spolana, which received 10 bids, had been short-listed to two bidders: Anwil and BorsodChem, a Hungarian chemical group.
