Approval on the cards for India’s fifth PCPIR in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu

India’s Union government is expected to give approval to the fifth Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemical Investment Region (PCPIR) in Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu in the next 2-3 months. “Things are almost finalised and we are very close to notify Tamil Nadu for its first and the country’s fifth PCPIR within 2-3 months,” said M Raman, secretary, department of chemicals and petrochemicals, ministry of chemicals and fertilisers. The four PCPIRs approved are at Dahej in Gujarat, Haldia in West Bengal, Paradip in Orissa and Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
