Liaoning Huajin Tongda Chemical Industry Corp plans to commence trial production at its new polyolefins facility in Liaoning province in Northeastern China, in May or June 2009. Subject to the success of the trials, the 3,00,000 tpa HDPE unit and 2,30,000 tpa PP unit shre expected to commence commercial production in October. These are part of a petrochemical complex which also includes a 5 mln tpa refinery, a 4,50,000 tpa naphtha cracker and a 1,50,000 tpa styrene monomer (SM) unit. The new refinery and naphtha cracker plant have been scheduled to come onstream in August 2009.
