Ashland Distribution, a commercial unit of Ashland Inc. (USA), has expanded its relationship with Eurotec Engineering Plastics (Turkey), by signing a new agreement, to distribute their polyamide (PA), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) compounds and blends in Sweden, Norway and Finland. In October 2008, the two companies signed a similar agreement covering Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Benelux and Poland. "We are pleased to expand our existing relationship with Eurotec to include our customers in the Nordic region," said Gianpaolo Armando, commercial director for Ashland Distribution's European operations.
Eurotec, a privately held company, was incorporated in 2004 in the European Free Zone in Corlu, Turkey. With a current production capacity of 14,000 tpa, the company has planned its factory infrastructure to reach a production capacity of 25,000 tpa. Eurotec manufactures Tecomid*, Tecodur* and Tecopet* brands of PA, PBT and PET compounds and blends that are primarily used in automotive, construction, and home appliances and furnishings manufacturing. More than 50% of the company's production is used in markets outside of Turkey (mainly in the European, Middle East, Asian and African regions).
