Basell plans to focus on its wholly owned production facilities in Tarragona, which currently have an annual capacity of 360,000 mta of polypropylene. Keeping this in view, Basell plans to sell its 50% share in the 160,000 mta polypropylene plant at Tarragona, Spain, to the Spanish Repsol. The parties expect to complete the transaction in the next few months following approval by the Spanish regulatory authorities.Currently the plant is operated by Transformadora De Propileno, jointly owned by Basell and Repsol.
