BASF, the world's biggest chemicals group and its Chinese partner Sinopec, are to conclude talks of the planned expansion of its Nanjing petrochemicals plant, which began operations last year at a joint investment of US$2.9 billion.
The investment in Nanjing will be part of BASF's plan to invest 1 billion euros ($1.25 billion) in Asia by 2009. BASF aims to generate 20% of group sales in Asia by 2010, a share it looks set to top after 19% of its revenues came from Asia last year.
