Bayer's new German PU dispersions facility to cater to cosmetics, medical market

23-Apr-09
Bayer MaterialScience AG has invested EUR 2.3 mln for a new waterborne PU dispersions (PUD) production line for the cosmetics and medical segments at Dormagen CHEMPARK (Germany). The new line forms a part of the PUD plant at the same location and will produce special, top-quality polyurethane dispersions of maximum purity, which will be sold to the cosmetics industry under the name Baycusan® C. The company stresses the dispersions do not contain any kind of co-solvent, are free of preservatives and thus have characteristics that are unique to this market. The Dormagen facility is already preparing for the next stage to unveil aqueous Baycusan® PU dispersions for the medical market since the product complies with requirements for medical applications.
