Eastman Chemical Company has reportedly announced that its Eastman Tritan™ copolyester will offer extensive design flexibility and increased product performance for the products in the baby care market including baby bottles, pacifiers and the like. Products molded from Eastman Tritan™ copolyester offers advantages of clarity and toughness (as with traditional copolyesters), but also offer heat and chemical resistance, improved design flexibility, and ease of processing. Further, Tritan™ does not contain bisphenol-A (BPA). Baby bottles can be produced from Tritan™ using extrusion blow molding (EBM) while pacifiers can be made employing the injection molding process.
