Brazilian petrochemical company Braskem plans to invest about 50 mln reais (US$23 mln) in increasing its production capacity of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) by 120,000 tpa. Of the new capacity, 100,000 tons will be used for Braskem's Flexus, a metallocene polyethylene used mainly for tough, heavy duty packaging. Production is slated to commence in H1-2015.
