April PVC offers by Japanese suppliers witnessed a cut by US$20/mt, with deals closing at around US$890/mt CFR China. Chinese producers also hiked their PVC export prices in line with a gain of oversea prices. Deals for carbide processed PVC resin were done at between USD800~820/mt FOB CMP, while ethylene based Chinese PVC resin was traded at the level of USD830~850/mt FOB CMP for April loading.
Turnaround at major plants has kept the market prices for VCM steady across Asia, due to tight supply. Prices for February and March VCM deliveries were pegged between US$690-700/mt CFR China. VCM for March delivery was sold at US$710/mt CFR China, but for nominal quantities. Demand for VCM, particularly from India, could boost VCM prices across Asia. Producers in India, where prices for PVC are pegged at US$920-930/mt, could afford VCM at USD800/mt CFR India.
